If you’re a home cultivator looking for a simple and easy-to-grow variety of oyster mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus var “Sporeless” might be just what you need. Unlike other oyster mushroom strains, “Sporeless Oyster” doesn’t produce spores, which can cause health problems when inhaled in high concentrations over extended periods. Despite this, the lack of spores doesn’t seem to affect its growth, making it an excellent choice for low-tech setups without proper spore ventilation.
These mushrooms do well in temperatures between 55-75°F but produce the best yields at 60-70°F.
